Begging for your votes!!!

Monday, 7/20/2009: It's the last day of voting at Lazy Knits and Purls in her new chatch-phrase contest. Please, oh pretty please, if you haven't voted yet, hurry over and vote for my suggestion:

No seams, no grafting and no provisional cast-ons. Here's a pretty garter stitch dishcloth ... wipe that smirk off your mug.

Tell your family and your friends! Tell your enemies, just don't tell mine. I'd really appreciate it, as I've apparently fallen behind over the weekend! Thanks!

LATE ADDITION: Thanks to everyone who voted - especially my buds at the bookstores, library, LYS and thriftstores! I know I was pushy asking for your votes while you were working today, so I really appreciate them. It doesn't look like I'll be winning this one, there's another person who is picking votes in bundles! They spent several days at about 4 votes, then overnight shot up to 12. When your votes put me up to 15 today, they shot up by an amazing 11 votes within just a couple hours to place them at an unmatchable 23. SO thanks to my friends, but anyone showing up now, there's no real reason to vote any longer.

LATE LATE ADDITION: In the last couple of hours of voting the count rose from 23 to 43! Another amazing 20 votes within just a couple hours!

FINAL ADDITION: I re-read my last two squibs, and yes One Sheep, I do have my suspicions, and they are more obvious than I thought at the time I wrote those mini-rants. I appreciate Scappy's comment, it puts things into perspective quite nicely. This isn't Gore v. Bush, it's a friendly blog contest. The most important thing is that Lazy Knits and Purls is happy with the winning entry.

I'm not publishing one anonymous comment that basically said "Don't be a crybaby because you lost to someone with more friends than you!", only with some nice profanity added. Point taken.

I am going to publish one anonymous comment, because anyone considering using a blog poll should have an idea of their accuracy and ways to protect their integrity.

This probably still sounds like sour grapes, and perhaps it is a bit. I'm only human. On the other hand, Congratulations to the Winner! Comments to this post are now closed.

That sounds a little suspicious, like maybe they found a way to cheat the poll? Anyway, sorry you didn't get this one for Our Team!

Blog polls are easy to cheat, they usually keep track with cookies. Delete the cookie and vote again. Here's a website with a few more hints if that doesn't work. How to cheat blog polls. If you use a hit counter with statistcs, like Site Meter, you can compare that log to the time the votes came in (if you have that info). For instance if 20 votes for one person came in during the last couple hours of the contest, were there 20 unique visitors to the site during that same time frame?
