Leave Me Be, I'm Old!

I had a feeling you would probably use up all the flowers I left you last time, so I arranged to have these delivered today. No reason, I mean today's just another day, you know. Nothing unusual going on, except maybe that it's the 55th anniversary of July 23, 1956. Not that that was a special day or anything.

Just an ordinary day, like today, only it was 55 years ago.

55 long, long Years Ago!

AAAAAAHHHRRRRRGGGGGGRRRHHHHGGGHHHH!!!!!

Still at Mom's. Enjoy. Umm, I mean enjoy the flowers, not me being away.

Leave me be, I'm old!

Unless, of course, you are the delightful, generous and talented Stephcuddles! I've won a faubulous collection of prizes from this wonderful lady, and I am so excited. See, she just celebrated her 23rd birthday, and my birthday is on the 23rd, so it just had to happen, right?

I chose these Beer Tankards Stitchcuddles (I LOVE that name!) from her Etsy Shop, aren't they perfect for a Double Birthday celebration? Happy Belated Birthday, Stephcuddles, I hope the party is still going on! Hoist one for me today, OK? And congratulations on your Stitchcuddles being at Knit Nation!

Special allowances will also be made for Debbi from Knit. Run. Reap. Eat.! The beautiful Viking Patterns For Knitting book by Elizabeth Lavold arrived just before I left for Mom's, and we will both enjoy (at the moment I write this) or have enjoyed (by the time you read this) (Time is confusing, especially getting older)studying it this week! Thanks again, Debbi, for this lovely and greatly appreciated treat! Be sure to check out Debbi's new giveaway for a copy of Supermarket Super Gardens.

ETA 7/19 - I've joined the library in a town near Momsville, so I can check email and use blogger now and then while I'm out here in the wilderness. It's a good thing too, because I need to send a great big Thank You to Ve of the wonderful Yarn on the House blog, and Tanis of Tanis Fiber Arts. I've been selected as the winner of Tanis's new Four Seasons Hat Kit, which includes the pattern and yarn in the Summer group of colors. This is a really lovely pattern with four sets of color combinations and colorwork elements to make a complete year's wardrobe of comfy, beautiful hats. Thank you both so much for this special treat.

ETA 7/21 - I'm back at the library, and have just discovered another great surprise - I've won the Name The Color contest at Yarn On Tap, the blog for the Knitters Brewing Company. Many thanks to the judges!

This great yarn company has a fun theme of naming yarn after adult beverages. They took my Indi-GoGo Juice suggestion and concentrated it down to IndiGoGo, which makes a lot of sense, because this rich shade packs a double strength wallop! Why not GoGo over to their site and check it out, along with all the other tasty, er, lovely drinks, er, yarns. Just don't get tipsy!

What with all this, plus the birthday greetings and other comments, I think I'm feeling kinda young again. Thanks everyone!

Happy birthday! And double nickels is NOT old. My recent (May) birthday had a big fat ZERO on the end and you know what? I'm not old, either.

Most of the time. Heh.

Enjoy your day/week/month/year!

Beautiful pics, as usual. Please can you stop winning things and finding lovely things in thrift shops,or else I might have to not like you :-)
