TTFN Could Mean Ta-Ta For Now Or Thrifting Twice For November, Or Both!

You may be aware that I have not participated in NaBloPoMo. In fact I've been slowing down on blogging in general. Not that I've actually posted less, just less interestingly. In more and more instances the motivating factor in posting wasn't a desire to share some interesting tidbit, but rather a sense of guilt for having been silent too long. Much of the cause has been a lack of interesting tidbits, as you will have noticed. The rest has been a shortage of enthusiasm.

I deceided a long time ago that I wouldn't be a disappearing blogger who just stops one day without warning. Instead I planned to post a final farewell, a sort of blogicide note - "Goodbye, cruel Internet!". Which I've been tempted to do several times in the last year, but I know now that I don't want to say goodbye for good. On the other hand, I don't want to feel guilty if I don't post for extended periods of time, like NaBloPoMo.

So this is my notice to the wonderful friends who regularly stop by (and a great big Thank You! for having done so) - I'm going to be posting less often for a while, until the blogging bug bites me again. Or, having gotten this off my chest, I'll suddenly be unable to shut up. But probably the first one.

Meanwhile, here's a thrift shop report from a couple days ago. I've been waiting for better lighting for better pics, but it ain't happening, so here we go:

First Column, top to bottom:

2 unlabeled Teal Blue, Forest Green, Grape, Terra Cotta, Mustartd, Olive, Goldenrod, etc. var. 2 ply, one fuzzy, one shiny. 55gr & 59gr balls. Burn test: animial fiber.

1 unlabled Wine, Navy, Forest Green, Dark Olive var. Cable. 50gr ball. Burn test: plant/synthetic blend.

Second Column:

1 Unlabeled Tan Tweedy. 31gr partial skein. Burn test: animial fiber.
1 unlabeled Pale Grey Super Bulky. 36gr cake. Burn test: animial fiber.
1 unlabeled Medium Grey-Green/Lavender bulky. 65gr cake. Burn test: animial fiber.

Third Column:

4 Pelgarn Funny Pink/Cream fun fur. 50gr, 90m. 100% Acrylic.
3 Bernat Bamboo Natural Blends Pale Yellow "CORN", 60gr/57m. 89% Bamboo/11% Acrylic.
1 Unlabeled Forest Green/Rust/Cream/Olive/Mustard/Grass/Tan/Wedgewood Blue etc. self-striping sock yarn. 62gr partial skein. Burn test: animial fiber.

Fourth Column:

1 Louet Eruroflax Lavender/Grey/Blue. 100gr/200 yds per label - but just like last time with this yarn, it was 115gr on the scale! 100% Wet Spun Linen.

Fifth Column:

5 GGH Bali 2 Red, 2 Green, 1 teeny,tiny bit of Yellow. 50gr/145m (8gr yellow). 50%Cotton/50% Acrylic.
1 unlabled White with green spots. 24gr. Burn test: synthetic. This is like a strip of felt, about 1/2 cm wide.
1 unlabled White, Blue, Yellow Baby Pastels. 13gr. Burn test: synthetic.

Sixth Column:

1 Karabella Soft Tweed Wheat with Tan/Gold/Grey Specks Tweed. 50gr/108 yds. 100% Wool.
2 Jaeger Luxury Tweed Wheat and Cream Tweed (Not Cream Of Wheat). 50gr, 180m. 65% Merino Lambswool/35% Alpaca.

The only price tag on the lot was the Karabella, at $8.50. This came in two bags, one $3.99, one $4.49, total $8.48. So, not only was this like a Buy One Get Twentysix Free offer, I even got a 2¢ discount on the Karabella! Score!

I have to justify it somehow, don't I?
