This is a dirty, greasy old spice rack that's been hanging on the kitchen wall, behind the pantry door, unused for over 20 years, just getting dirtier and greasier. It's been made redundant by a nice little free-standing cabinet that just fits on my limited workspace. It hasn't been forgotten, though obviously it's been neglected. I haven't thrown it out, because I never throw anything out. I haven't donated it because of the condition. I haven't given any thought to another use for it, again because of the condition.
Today it somehow crawled off the wall, over to the computer, and started browsing the web. When it was finished, it left me this note:
Why do I look like this? When I could look like one of these:
The Speckled Dog

And my only answer is, you got stuck with wrong fella. Sorry. But I am seriously considering sprucing it up, though I still don't have any idea what for. I'm not a nail polish sort of guy. You might be able to see a little area at the top that I tried to clean a bit today, to remove the remains of a flower decal. That'll give you an idea of just how neglected this poor rack has been.
Thanks for the nice comments on the dress.
Vivianne, I'm thinking of narrowing the sleeves down to where I can use entrelac the same size as around the neck for a cuff. If don't like that , the picot is a great idea, thanks.
Debbi, I have to say from now on I'll probably stay with smaller entrelac projects. The skirt became quite boring after a while. Each square took an hour and really felt like two. At least being able to knit both right and left handed helped a lot.
Chancey, Mom won't model it - she doesn't like her picture being on the blog. She ageed to let me put one up once, but her face is mostly covered with a hat and sunglasses.

Oh, at least you have one - I stuff all in a cupboard and forget what I have..! :-)
Sugarsoap will remove any dirt and grease from the spicerack. Once you have refurbed it, I am SURE that you will find a use for it :-)
You could crop her head off so that we can't ID her...
